Mac Cleaner Guard is built around a simple principle: your Mac's contents stay on your Mac. The app has no advertising, no behavioral tracking, and no cloud analysis. It inspects your storage locally to help you reclaim space safely.
1. Data We Do Not Access
Mac Cleaner Guard does not upload the contents of your files. It does not send your file names, paths, duplicate results, or security-scan findings to any server. There are no advertising SDKs, no behavioral tracking, and no third-party marketing analytics inside the application.
The local security scan is designed so that raw secret values are never stored in reports, caches, or logs. Findings are shown with the sensitive value redacted.
2. Local-Only Processing
All core functions run entirely on your device: cleanup scanning, exact-duplicate detection with SHA-256, verified offload, memory insight, and the security scan. These features do not require network access to work.
Because processing is local, Mac Cleaner Guard does not maintain user accounts and has no server-side copy of your data to expose.
3. Where Your Data Lives
Your files stay where they already are on your Mac. When you clean or offload, items move to a Managed Trash on your own disks until you choose to purge them.
The app stores small local support files — such as your Protected list, cleanup and duplicate snapshots, and History — in your user Library on your Mac. These remain on your device and are not transmitted.
4. Permissions the App Requests
To inspect storage and reclaim space, macOS may ask you to grant the app access to folders such as the Desktop, Documents, and Downloads, or Full Disk Access for a complete scan. These permissions are used only to analyze and, with your approval, clean or move files on your device.
- Sensitive areas such as iCloud Drive, Mail, Messages, and backups are treated as report-only.
- iCloud placeholder files are never downloaded merely to scan them.
- The app does not read password managers or browser profiles to harvest credentials.
5. This Website
This website presents information about Mac Cleaner Guard. If the site is later hosted with a provider, that provider may process standard technical request information, such as IP addresses and timestamps, for security and reliability. Any optional website analytics, if introduced, will be described here before they are enabled.
6. Retention and Deletion
Local data remains on your device until you delete it or remove the application. You can clear the app's local support files, empty Managed Trash by purging, or uninstall the app at any time.
Because there is no account and no cloud copy, there is no server-side profile to request deletion of.
7. Your Control and Contact
You decide what is scanned, what is cleaned, and what is kept. Nothing is removed without your review, and Managed Trash keeps actions reversible until you purge.
