These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Mac Cleaner Guard application. By installing or using the app, you agree to these Terms.
1. Acceptance of These Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Mac Cleaner Guard, you confirm that you have read and agree to these Terms and to the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the application.
2. License to Use the App
Subject to these Terms, you are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use Mac Cleaner Guard on devices you own or control, for your own lawful purposes. This license does not transfer ownership of the software to you.
3. What the App Does
Mac Cleaner Guard is a local, safety-first cleanup utility for macOS. It scans your storage read-only, presents reclaimable items with risk levels, and removes only what you approve. Cleaned and offloaded items are moved to a Managed Trash and can be restored until you explicitly purge them.
Freeing space permanently ("purging") and permanent deletion are explicit actions that you initiate. Once purged, recovery through the app is no longer possible.
4. Backups and Your Data
You are responsible for maintaining your own backups. While the app is designed to make removals reviewable and reversible through Managed Trash, no cleanup tool can guarantee that a file removed and later purged can be recovered.
Moving files between volumes, including offload, changes where your data is stored. Freeing space on your startup disk by moving data to another volume is not the same as keeping an independent backup.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree to use Mac Cleaner Guard lawfully and not to:
- use the application for any unlawful, harmful, or abusive purpose;
- use it to access or remove data on devices you do not own or control;
- circumvent the app's safety controls or protected-path rules to cause data loss;
- reverse engineer, decompile, or modify the application except to the extent permitted by applicable law.
6. Intellectual Property
Mac Cleaner Guard, its name, logo, design, and software are owned by the operator and protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms grant you a license to use the application, not any ownership of it. Your files remain yours.
7. Disclaimers
Mac Cleaner Guard is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. While it is designed with a safety-first workflow, read-only scanning, verification, and reversible actions, no software can be guaranteed to be error-free or completely without risk in every circumstance.
Secure deletion of removed data is subject to the behavior of your storage hardware and file system and cannot be guaranteed in all cases.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data resulting from actions you approve, from purging Managed Trash, from your own device or backups, or from circumstances beyond our reasonable control. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under mandatory consumer-protection law.
9. Changes and Contact
We may update the application and these Terms from time to time, for example to reflect new features or legal requirements. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance. You may stop using Mac Cleaner Guard at any time by uninstalling it.
These Terms are governed by the applicable laws of the operator's jurisdiction, without limiting any mandatory consumer-protection rights available to you in your country of residence. For questions about these Terms, contact us at maccleaner@eventumdigital.com.
